BLACKWING Volume 64 (limited edition)
Rodolphe Töpffer, a teacher and painter in Switzerland, published in 1837 the adventures of a character named Vieux Bois. The adventure story uses six illustrated frames with images and titles per page to convey action and dialogue. The unprecedented narrative style became the origin of the world's first comic book, and it is also known as the father of comics.
In the next 200 years, comics have evolved from niche media to a broad interpretation of storytelling. Comic book writers, pencils, inkers, letters, and colorists all use this method to portray iconic characters, explored profound topics, and blur the boundaries between pop culture and art.
To pay homage to comic books and the ideas that gave them life, Blackwing VOL.64 was born. Unique halftone design imitates the 64-color palette used in early comics. And it also has the special doubled imprint inspired by comic book lettering. The firm graphite makes it easy and flawless to outline new characters or write their super features. It is a pen that people who love comics will inevitably treasure.
